Hi, I’m Joel and I’m an English teacher.
Do you want to speak perfect English? I think that most students want to speak perfect English. However, that’s not really a good thing because the truth is, nobody speaks perfect English.
I don’t speak perfect English, Sean Connery doesn’t speak perfect English, and Barrack Obama doesn’t speak perfect English. No one can speak perfectly because no one is perfect.
Do you speak perfectly in your native language? Maybe you speak German, French, Chinese, Portuguese. You don’t speak perfectly in your native language either. So don’t expect to speak perfectly in English.
Does that make you feel better? It should. So you can relax. I don’t have to speak perfectly. However, you can improve your English and speak fluently. If someone speaks fluently, that means they can understand probably 90 percent or more and they can express themselves. They can say almost anything they need to say. They can hold a conversation. They can understand what’s on TV in English.
So, you can strive to speak fluent English. That’s good. But remember, you’re never going to speak perfect English because that’s impossible. So relax. Don’t worry about speaking perfectly. Now if you want to improve your English and speak fluently – that’s possible.
